  1. Just need to go back to what NBA was like in 90s, it is easy and everyone knows, but those players and bosses do not want to do that, because games in 80s and 90s are too hard for them now, they only want easy money.

  2. You’re underestimating a lot of factor and left out more. No more variety of skills. Rules are favoring offensive players. The players shooting all these 3’s are NOT efficient. The money is too much for too little on return. Just look at what these players did to the all star game! Too much money upfront for the players. The mentality of the players is horrible too.

  3. Big time NBA viewer from 85-around 2015. The game just is so boring to watch now. I would love to see a return to the game from the 90s when bigs ruled.

  4. I felt embarrassed for Detroit, watching Reid almost catch a penalty because he was tripped and his heel tapped the other player then guy flopped to make it look like he got kicked. NBA players are just actors at this point, when they mess up on an easy shot.

  5. Players like Lebron, Westbrook and Harden destroyed the NBA by putting more emphasis on statistics rather than the game. They were willing to lose critical buzzer beater plays rather than risking their individual statistical standing.

Players like Chris Paul, James Harden and Russell Westbrook have in paper great players but never won Championships. Basketball is a team game.

  6. I can’t watch an nba game unless it’s the playoffs!!! Zero defense the game looks so damn easy now guys shooting threes all game long no mid range game the power forwards like Kevin Mchale and Karl Malone are obsolete these days even centers are shooting threes and handling the ball please somebody fix this mess !!!! Take away that no hand checking rule allow guys to play defense again !!!

  7. You obviously didn’t watch basketball in the 70s or 80. Players back then were just as athletic as the players today.

  8. My thoughts are the following:
    – the three point rule itself should be amended in NBA, pro shooters almost do not miss three points shoots
    – ease the defense rules, currently defense plays the role of psychological pressure rather than being really effective

  9. the 3 pointer makes no sense anymore because everyone can shoot from the perimeter nowadays, even centers. It messed up the tradeoff of risking a shoot from far because it worths 3 points. It’s just so easy right now that there is simply no tradeoff.

  10. Nobody “solves basketball”. This generation is just too lazy to compete and be creative. The rule changes just made it worst.

  11. It’s a lie…
These guys aren’t bigger and more athletic..
Go watch Shawn Kemp film. 😒

  12. Moving screens and traveling has a lot more to do with it.Then three point shooting law of averages play. Makes it all *WAAAAY* easier

  13. Omg I was watching the 08 ecf series game 7 cavs vs Celtics when pierce went for 41 and Bron went for 49 and blew the game going for the layup at the end….nba is nothing like how it was I miss those times its becoming less and less entertaining 😢

  14. Players goes for three because refs are bias and don’t call correctly. Why risk driving in when you only small chance of getting a call when you gets fouled. Three didn’t killed the game refs did

  15. That’s why I watch international basketball. American basketball is boring as fuck. No defense and inconsistent calls, depends on star power. It’s sad when falling asleep watching it is how exciting it is. Crappy product…

  16. The narrative these new guys are more athletic, bigger, stronger and faster are straight up lies. These guys don’t really lift weights and they’re running the fast break wrong. It’s ridiculous these are conversations being had and comparing stats with literally no defense being played today and all they’re doing is just shooting more threes at an inefficient rate. Ridiculous!

  17. Just try stopping your opponent from scoring and see how that helps. It’s actually a lot harder to score when someone tries to stop you.

  18. I disagree that the players are more athletic now, the new rules made teams have to only draft one kind of player. The lane is wide open with the current rules and offensive players rarely move inside the three point line. Put the big men back in the paint, pick up the great shooters at half court. Allow double teams and bring back hand checking.

  19. Basketball is one of those sports where the rules are constantly evolving to make it more competitive, and more importantly interesting. They added the shot clock, the three point line, they basically legalized palming the ball and traveling, they’ll let people play defense again and we’ll be back to business. Hell they could probably raise the net, or make it smaller, or put the three point line further back if they want to get people to stop shooting threes.

  20. Implement a 5 second violation instead of 3 seconds and a 3 second offensive violation outside the 3 point line

  21. I don’t think it is the 3 point shooting that is messing up the game. The three point line has been around for several decades by now and that wasn’t a problem. It’s the rules that hamper defenses. However changing the rules could lower scoring and that was the reason they changed them in the first place. Also without those rules changes there would be no Steph. He would have been beaten up every time he drove to the basket and would have been considered a one dimensional role player. He just isn’t strong enough to have competed as a starter back then.

  22. Fiba rules are better. It’s genuine passion not money and what they think will get more views

  23. The NBA started going wrong when they allowed zone defense. It’s all been downhill from there. Today’s game is about as exciting as team handball… maybe less.

  24. I always knew that NBA basketball was the most stupid game on the planet, glad everyone else caught up with my opinion 10 years later.

  25. Go play pickup basketball with younger guys who grew up watching this era. You can’t even graze them, on or off ball, without them calling a foul.

  26. simply if you don’t play defense and less physical (too) then you have more energy to score. if the 80’s 90’s don’t play d like they did back then they could score more. This is a super stupid video that offense got better etc..

  27. The solution to basketball is height. A full team where every player is at least seven feet tall would go 82-0 every year

  28. The game is so dull. Teams just take turns chucking 3s. There’s no defense. No originality in playmakimg. A guy just goes down the court and hurls a three. Actually allow players to play defense again and this will stop. Making a basket used to be a fight. Now it’s so damn easy the scores are ridiculously high. More and more games are blowouts by the 3rd quarter.

  29. That has been debunked. There’s not even an inch difference in the height between the 80s and modern NBA.
And people are not any faster than they were before.
And as far as athleticism, there is no Dominique.
Wilkins or michael jordan in today’s NBA.
It’s the rule changes that make the modern NBA the way it is, plain and simple.
