This games was lost on that stupid back pass on the powerplay. Can the NHL get more inventive with their zone entries? This nonsense is costing games now and Im not even an Oilers fan and im pissed that that decided the game.

The Avs are basically a one-line team! Almost all their points come from their first line! They have NO depth scoring at all.
Avs look so good going forward but some of the ones they let in could and should have been avoided. Really need to watch that going into the play offs.

This is really a great match up with how similar the teams are. 4 superstars now though instead of 5.
A great clash of two currently most skilled, fastest NHL teams with expected ingrediences – flash fast attacks, rude or sloppy d-men (many defensively ridiculous situations), poor Skinner as usual and Oilers’ ability to come back to any match thru their firepower. Hopefully they can rematch in Western finals as they sadly cant be both finalists 🙂 These 10 mins+ highlights are awesome as people who cant watch or dont have time to watch the full games (ie. living in the other side of the planet) can better see the bigger picture of the game.
Oilers need to give their goalie some confidence and help on defense.

Blackwood’s pad work is top notch, he covers up so much space with his giant long legs. Unfortunately, the 5-hole was open for business tonight. He looks like this 4 nations break is very needed. He is getting a little overworked carrying the Avs.

As for Nečas, he’s obviously not (yet) on Makar/MacK level but a great fit as d-men can’t afford to leave their eyes from him even for a second… Once he gets a free ice puck in a speed he can’t be catched. That itself creates more space for other guys and Lekhonen might grow into a next Rantanen in time. Oilers simply lack quality to be able to defend such a group especially with Skinner, the only chance is to outscore them, like in the 80s. The odds for Oilers winning the Cup are pretty low since they did nothing to remove last years’ weak parts.
