Israel reached the pinnacle when he beat Pereira. Mentally he was at the summit of the biggest mountain in the world. He wasn’t ready for other mountain sin the shape of both Strickland and Du Plessis, even though they were much easier to climb. This is why Eugene reported that he wasn’t interested in training Adesanya again if he couldn’t take it back to when they first started – Israel wasn’t motivated by those two fights and Eugene could feel it.

I don’t support any videos of ya’ll making predictions, it advocates for betting and potentially loosing money on a sport that’s meant to entertain everybody….What’s the point of this? Why can’t we just watch the fights and enjoy the moments and crazy upsets? Picking winners/losers encourages us to keep betting on it and getting disappointed every weekend.

I think confidence is also a factor. Especially when you see guys get defeated at the press conference, rattled mentally or have a one day late notice opponent change. Not enough time to prepare mentally may have contributed to some recent upsets. Its nice to see the lines corrected from massive hyped favorited prospects to beatable sides.
